I’ve always been drawn to worlds where magic, adventure, and the impossible intertwine, and this genre allows me to build a universe entirely my own. As a veterinarian, I work closely with nature, animals, and the environment, so creating mystical creatures and enchanting landscapes felt like a natural extension of my love for life’s mysteries. High fantasy allows me to explore not only thrilling adventures but also deeper themes of courage, friendship, and resilience in a way that resonates with readers of all ages.

Q: How did The Mythnia Chronicles come to life?

Amely: It all began with my son, David. When he was three years old, he asked me not to read him a story but to create one just for him. That night, I started a tale about a young hero named Prince David, a magical world called Mythnia, and an enchanted tree that bore bread instead of fruit. David was captivated, and so was I. What started as a bedtime story grew into an entire world, filled with adventures, beloved characters, and unforgettable places. The Enchanted Bread Tree became the first book in The Mythnia Chronicles, but by the time I finished it, I realized this was just the beginning. Now, I’m deep into writing the second book, Dragonfire: The Revenge of Seraphis, and there are many more stories ahead.

Amely: Dragonfire: The Revenge of Seraphis will be available on November 19, 2024, initially on Amazon Kindle, in both German and English. I’m so excited to share this story with readers worldwide!

Amely: Initially, I intended to write them down as keepsakes for David, but as I began to write, the story took on a life of its own. New characters, settings, and adventures started forming around Prince David and the enchanted bread tree. It became clear that this story had grown beyond our nightly routine—it was something I wanted to share with others. Knowing that other children and young readers could experience the magic of Mythnia was incredibly motivating, and that’s when I decided to turn it into a full book series.

Q: How do you balance being a writer with your career as a veterinarian?

Amely: Balancing my career, family life, and writing is a challenge, but it’s one I cherish. My work as a veterinarian demands precision and compassion, which surprisingly complements my creative side as a writer. There’s something about being around animals and nature that sparks my imagination, and I often find inspiration from my work. Of course, my days can be hectic, but my family’s support, especially from David and my husband, helps me find time to bring the world of Mythnia to life.

Amely: Yes, Book 3 is indeed in the works! I’m thrilled to share that the next installment will continue Prince David and Princess Felicitas’s journey in even more intense and surprising ways. We’re aiming for a release in early 2025, and while I can’t reveal too much just yet, I can say that readers can expect higher stakes, new allies, and deeper magic as the story unfolds. As for the title, we’re calling it The Unbroken Oath, though that could evolve as the story develops. This third book will expand Mythnia’s world even further and bring fresh challenges that will test our heroes to their limits. It’s an adventure I can’t wait for readers to experience!
