As an author, my journey into the world of fantasy writing began in the most unexpected way. Though I had always harbored a deep love for storytelling, my career as a veterinarian kept me thoroughly occupied. Between the demands of my profession and the joyfully chaotic life of raising my son, David, I found little time to indulge in creative pursuits. But it was David, with his boundless curiosity and imagination, who unknowingly nudged me onto the path of fantasy writing.

It all started when David was just three years old. Like many children his age, he developed a bedtime routine that quickly became sacrosanct. But instead of the usual bedtime stories read from a book, David made a special request: he wanted me to tell him a story. Not read, but create something entirely new each night. And so began the tradition of our nightly Princess stories, with one particular character taking center stage—Prince David, a young hero in a magical world.

One evening, as I wove another tale to lull David to sleep, I conjured up an image of an enchanted tree that bore bread instead of fruit. This bread tree quickly became a favorite, not just for David, but for me as well. It was such a vivid concept, and the story around it seemed to grow with each retelling. Eventually, it struck me that this little tale deserved more than just being a part of our nightly ritual. I decided to write it down, intending it to be a simple, short story—a keepsake for David, perhaps.

However, as I began to write, something incredible happened. The small world I had created for that one story began to expand in my mind. Characters, places, and plots started to emerge, all centered around Prince David and the magical bread tree. Before I knew it, what was meant to be a brief story had evolved into something much larger—a fully-fledged fantasy world with its own lore and history.

This was how “The Chronicles of Mythnia” were born, with the first book titled “The Enchanted Bread Tree.” The more I wrote, the more this world came alive, and I realized that this was just the beginning. Even before finishing the first story, I knew there were many more tales to tell, and a series of books began to take shape in my mind.

Now, I am deep into writing the second book in the series, “The Dragon Awakens.” This time, it’s a full-length novel, brimming with the adventures of Prince David and the rich, magical world of Mythnia. The more I write, the more ideas flow, and I am certain that “The Chronicles of Mythnia” will continue to grow, with many more stories waiting to be told.

Balancing my career, motherhood, and writing is no easy feat, but it’s a journey I cherish. Fantasy writing has become a part of who I am, all thanks to a simple bedtime request from my little boy. And as I continue to explore this enchanting world I’ve created, I know there are countless adventures still ahead—both for Prince David and for myself as an author.
